And so here he sat, plopped down in a chair in the children’s unit, eyes fixed upon the television screen. Today, they were showing Hercules, and Elie’s attention was only half concentrated on the movie. A splitting headache was starting to form, the voices of the children sitting around him not particularly helping, but he’d be damned if he got up and went back to his boring room. His eyes glanced down to his tray of food; nothing special, just a mountain of toast. He’d been feeling sick to his stomach earlier when he woke up, he hadn’t felt up to a proper meal, but he was hungry enough to finish off this toast quickly enough. Out of the corner of his eye, the sleepyhead spotted a girl wander into the room.
